carrot cake

There are a few things I find really disgusting. Poor hygiene for example. Or meat (especially chicken).  And sweet vegetables. I just can't handle it. When I eat sweet and sour-sauce my brain is just like 'What is this? Is this dessert? Is this really your main course? It's sweet! Why are there vegetables in there? Why are you doing this to me?' and honestly: I don't. I just don't eat it. I can't stand it. It's weird. There are only a few exceptions.. like this.
This is carrot cake.
Real carrots.
In a real cake.
Not salty.
You heard me people!

what you need:
in general
♥300g plain flour
 ♥2 tsp cinnamon
 ♥1 tsp baking powder
♥½ tsp bicarbonate of soda (dt: Natron)
 ♥200g soft brown sugar
 ♥4 eggs
 ♥250ml oil
 ♥1 orange , zested
 ♥1 lemon , zested
 ♥200g carrots , finely grated
 ♥150g walnuts , chopped
♥125g unsalted butter at room temperature
 ♥50g icing sugar  (dt: Puderzucker
 ♥250g cream cheese

what you have to do
in general
1. Mix flour, cinnamon, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda
2. stir in the sugar
3. mix the eggs with the oil and citrus zests
4. stir in the carrots
5.mix everything with the flour mixture
6. fold in the walnuts
7.spoon everything in your tin and bake it for 1 1/2 hours at 150°C
(careful: for this you need a deep tin! Most of the german tins are flat, not deep. I guess they would work as well, but you have to be careful with the baking time.)

for the frosting
1. mix the butter and the icing sugar until soft
2.beat in the cream cheese
3.chill the mixture until it's thick and spreadable!
4.put on the cake after it's cool.

(my future posts are going to be English, from now on. At least most of them.)
